Generally, good candidates for eyelid surgery are:

Men and women who are healthy and have realistic expectations.
Men and women with small pouches of fat in the upper or lower lids that create a tired or aged appearance.
Men and women that have excessive, sagging or wrinkled upper or lower eyelid skin.

An eyelid lift will give you a more youthful and rested appearance to your eyes. It will soften wrinkle lines around the eye..

Your Surgery
Eyelid surgery is done on an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia. An incision is made that traces the natural fold of the upper lid and extends a little beyond the outside corner. The sagging skin is separated from the fatty tissue and muscle underneath and removed. Excess fat from the lower eyelid can be removed through an incision made inside the lower lid. Following surgery you may experience mild discomfort. Dr. Thao will give you oral medication to ease the discomfort. Your sutures are usually removed within 3-10 days and eye make-up can be applied shortly after sutures are removed. You can begin wearing contact lenses usually within 2-3 weeks.

Botox injection is an additional procedure that you may consider to diminish frown lines between the eyes and horizontal lines in the forehead. Botox is an excellent procedure to erase “crow's feet” around the outer eyes as well.
