Ideal candidates for breast lift are

Women who want to regain the shape and firmness of a youthful looking breast. The skin looses its elasticity and the breasts sag as part of the natural aging process due to pregnancy, nursing, or genetics.
Women that want to cosmetically lift and reshape their breasts.
Women that are done having children. You may choose to do this procedure anytime. However, be aware that pregnancy may stretch your breasts again and offset the results of the procedure.

Your Breast Lift Surgery
Breast lift is performed on an outpatient basis, under general anesthesia. A short scar or lollipop-shape incision is made along the natural contour of the breast. Dr. Thao sculpts the excess skin and tissue and repositions the nipple to give the breast a more youthful appearance. During a breast lift procedure, Dr. Thao can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. The procedure usually takes from 1 1/2 to 3 hours. You return home in a fitted surgical bra. You may experience soreness, bruising and swelling, although medication eases much of this discomfort. You can expect to have your sutures removed within one to two weeks. Light activity may be started in a few days.

If your breasts are small or have lost volume, as they sometimes do following pregnancy—you may choose Breast Augmentation in conjunction with your breast lift that will increase their firmness and their size.
