Your Breast Augmentation Surgery
Breast augmentation, technically known as augmentation mammoplasty , is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast. Your procedure is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. A small incision can be made around the areola or at the natural crease of the breast , a pocket is created and a saline or silicone implant is inserted under the breast tissue and the underlying muscle. The breast augmentation procedure usually takes one to two hours.

Following your breast augmentation surgery, you will return home in an elastic bra that helps hold your breasts in the correct position. Your initial discomfort will be controlled with oral medication and sutures are dissolvable and do not need to be removed. An additional breast procedure that will enhance the result if your breasts tend to sag is a breast lift , technically known as Mastopexy.
