Autologous fat transfer (fat grafting) is a procedure in which your own fat is collected from a distant donor area, usually the tummy, outer thigh or buttocks and reinjected into the areas needed.

Additional cosmetic surgery procedures that may enhance the result of your Fat Transfer include Facelift, Forehead Lift, Neck Lift, Eyelid Lift, Rhinoplasty, Chemical Peel or Laser Skin Rejuvenation and BOTOX.

Fat grafting is done on an outpatient basis and requires sedation plus local anesthesia if larger amounts of fat are to be collected. The treated areas are over corrected and may take up to 4 weeks to look natural. You may see bruising and could take 2-3 weeks to completely dissipate. Recovery times may vary from patient to patient so please discuss your recovery time with Dr. Thao.
